Accounting Technician 1
The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Alaska International Airport Systems, is looking to fill multiple Accounting Technician 1 positions to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
In the Accounts Receivables role, you'll immerse yourself in the dynamic world of billing and invoicing, expertly crafting and sending invoices based on CAR data and contractual terms. You'll ensure accurate adjustments for penalties and late fees, while mastering the reconciliation of receipts and meticulous record-keeping. Managing customer accounts, handling inquiries with finesse, and generating bills for a variety of airport services will be key parts of your job. Meanwhile, in Accounts Payable, you'll oversee vendor payments with precision, manage utility payments, navigate complex contract amendments, and tackle duplicate payment reports. Your role will involve resolving issues, maintaining vendor relationships, and providing essential administrative support. Overall, you'll be the financial linchpin, driving efficiency and accuracy across receivables and payables and keeping everything running seamlessly.
Our division's mission is to "Keep Alaska Flying and Thriving." Because of limited road access, Alaskans and Alaska's economy depend on aviation to move people and goods. The AIAS, comprised of Ted Stevens Anchorage and Fairbanks International Airports, provides the primary transportation corridors for intra- and out-of-state travelers and freight. The economic benefits contributed to the Anchorage and Fairbanks communities by the AIAS is approximately $2 billion combined. This position is critical to account properly, accurately, and timely for the millions of dollars of AIAS revenue. In this role, you are essentially the "first responder" who identifies then notifies others of data inconsistencies or noncompliance with contract, state, and federal requirements and works with others to resolve.

This position requires the ability to successfully complete fingerprint based criminal history records check and TSA security threat assessment in order to obtain and maintain ANC SITA airport badge.
Minimum Qualifications : One year of clerical work experience maintaining records that included using computer systems and performing basic arithmetic calculations. Substitutions : Successful completion of a formal vocational education program in accounting or bookkeeping will substitute for the required experience. Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester / 4 quarter hours equal one month).
