Sacred Heart University’s Art & Design Department is seeking a qualified art historian or artist to teach American Art – AR-104-A for the Spring 2026 semester.

This course meets in-person on Tuesday / Friday from 8 : 00 a.m. to 9 : 15 a.m . and covers the ideas and ideals in American art in reference to the European mainstream. Emphasis is on styles and forms of the American environment and experience that constitute the characteristic tradition in painting, sculpture, and architecture.

Candidate should have Masters degree or PHD in Art or Art History and teaching experience at the college level.
