Position Summary
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range : $19.00-$22.50 per hour
The Graduate Admissions Counselor represents the mission and values of Fresno Pacific University in the communities we serve by being the primary representative of FPU to prospective graduate students. This position will recruit students to FPU’s graduate programs. The Graduate Admissions Counselor will guide prospective students through the admissions and enrollment process, from the point where they express interest in FPU until they decide to attend and complete the enrollment process. This position will attend outreach events and be an advocate for Fresno Pacific University and will also help prospective students navigate connections with various offices on campus as a part of the enrollment decision-making process.

Duties :
Recruit prospective graduate students to attend Fresno Pacific UniversityGuide students through the admissions and enrollment decision-making processPresent to prospective students the best case for enrolling as a graduate student at FPU in a prospective student’s program of interestConduct individual and group student meetings both on and off campus.Maintain professional and consistent communication and relationships with program directors and faculty.Manage a distinct group of prospective students through the admissions process using a Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) with the support of Admissions OperationsRecord all interactions with prospective students appropriately within the CRM.Maintain regular communication with a distinct group of prospective students to encourage and support them through the admissions and enrollment decision-making process.Work with FPU staff, faculty and administration on both community and regional activities and events including occasional travel as needed.Serve as an articulate spokesperson for the mission, vision, and values of FPU.Complete tasks timely with work that is comprehensive, complete, and accurate.Communicates clearly, listens attentively, and seeks to understand others.Collaborates productively with colleagues of varying skillset.Other job duties as assigned.Qualifications
Required :
High School DiplomaOne year of work experience in sales, customer service, or a related fieldStrong interpersonal and communication skillsStrong organizational skillsStrong commitment to customer serviceWillingness to occasionally travel regionally and work events when needed (nights and weekends may be required very occasionally)Preferred :
Bachelor’s degreeExperience in a higher education settingExperience with a Customer Relationship Management systemEnvironmental Conditions :
Indoors in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes at least eighty percent (80%) of the time.Frequent computer use at a workstation, up to eight hours per day.Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.Drive personal or University vehicles to appointments.Public contact position requiring professional apparel, personal hygiene, and grooming.Physical Demands :
This position typically functions indoors in an office environment with light to moderate noise associated with business office equipment. The position may involve travel for meetings and events.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to : remain in a stationary position 80 % of the time, be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets / office machinery etc., operate a computer and keyboard and other office productivity machinery such as calculators / copy machines / printers. The employee is occasionally required to position self to reach items on the floor and in high cabinetry.The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 40 pounds.
