Chemist

Overview

Join a respected environmental agency laboratory as a Chemist supporting air quality and environmental testing initiatives. In this role, you'll contribute to essential research and data analysis that helps protect Southern California's environment and public health. You may assist across multiple lab departments and participate in both laboratory and field work.

You'll conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical analyses of air samples using advanced instrumentation, including mass spectrometry and spectroscopic techniques, to determine the type and concentration of airborne contaminants.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (required) from an accredited U.S. college or university.

Preferred emphasis : atmospheric chemistry, analytical chemistry, or instrumental analysis.

Hands-on experience performing qualitative and quantitative analyses using a variety of laboratory techniques, procedures, and instruments.

Knowledge of or experience with spectroscopic and / or mass spectrometric methods is highly desired.

Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining strict adherence to chain-of-custody and documentation standards.

Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to scientific integrity.
