What you will do :

• Conduct technical accounting research and interpret complex GAAP and statutory guidance related to investment transactions
• Monitor new accounting standards and regulatory developments; assess impact and lead implementation efforts
• Draft and maintain accounting policies and position papers for capital markets and investment activities
• Communicate accounting updates and implications to stakeholders across varying levels of financial expertise
• Collaborate with external auditors on policy interpretation and complex transactions
• Partner with asset managers and legal teams to evaluate new investment strategies and ensure proper accounting treatment
• Review legal agreements and deal documents for accounting and reporting implications
• Support the preparation of financial statement disclosures for new transactions and accounting changes
• Support investment accounting system enhancements and process improvements
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives and special projects

What you will need to be successful :

• Bachelor's degree in accounting (required); CPA preferred
• 7+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in public accounting or insurance accounting
• Strong understanding of GAAP and statutory accounting principles
• Experience with investment structures and financial instruments
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with investment accounting systems
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
