The Multi-Domain Solutions (MDS) division is on the lookout for an Entry-Level Operations Technician . In this position, you will assist in the operation, maintenance, and repair of vital mechanical and electrical systems that support a comprehensive facility. These systems range from central plants and boilers to HVAC systems, generators, and building automation systems. Your contribution will be essential in ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous functioning of infrastructure crucial to building operations and production.
Key Responsibilities :
Operate and monitor essential building systems like boilers, chillers, HVAC units, generators, pumps, and transformers.
Assist in maintenance and repair tasks for mechanical and electrical systems, focusing on preventive and corrective procedures.
Respond to equipment alarms and operational issues, taking appropriate actions under supervision.
Monitor system performance through gauges, manual readings, and automated controls.
Collect and analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies or potential equipment failures.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, operational standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Support emergency response efforts for equipment failures and critical incidents.
Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, maintenance activities, and system performance.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to report issues and provide updates.
Basic Qualifications :
TS / SCI w / Poly Clearance is required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
2-4 years of relevant experience in operations, facilities management, or related areas.
Familiarity with facilities operations, maintenance, and space utilization.
Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and energy-efficient practices.
Basic experience with budgeting, cost tracking, and vendor coordination.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and site layouts.
Strong communication and organizational skills for engaging with internal stakeholders and vendors.
Capable of resolving routine maintenance and allocation issues.
Proficient in common office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word) and basic facility management systems.
Preferred Qualifications :
Associate's or bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.
4+ years of experience in facilities management or office space planning.
Professional certifications such as IFMA's Facility Management Professional (FMP) or Certified Facility Manager (CFM).
Advanced knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and building automation systems.
Experience with project planning, scheduling, and contract management.
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and engage with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of sustainability practices and efficiency improvements in building operations.
