Job Summary

The Billing Account Analyst is responsible for resolving variance / denials using critical thinking, analytical skills, and appropriate decision making to resolve accounts. The Billing Account Analyst applies pertinent Marshfield Clinic Health System policies, protocols, and processes in problem solving but has the ability to respond to unique cases in which clear policy and procedures are not always established. The Billing Account Analyst maintains a thorough knowledge of carrier policies, direct contracts, subscriber benefits, non-covered services, coding, diagnosis issues, and accounts receivable. A high degree of professionalism and accuracy regarding written and verbal communication between internal and external customers is expected.

Job Qualifications

Education

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Experience

Minimum Required : Two years' experience in a medical business office, healthcare, pharmaceutical setting, or comparable experience.

Preferred / Optional : Experience specific to the department hired within.
