General And Inorganic Chemistry Teaching Lab Stockroom Manager

Manage operation of the General and Inorganic Chemistry Teaching Lab Stockroom including the procurement, preparation, and distribution of reagents, supplies, and equipment.

Ensure the General and Inorganic Chemistry Teaching Laboratories are ready for instruction, including : setting up any necessary reagents, supplies, and equipment; coordinating instrument, equipment, and facilities related maintenance and repair; and adhering to cleanliness standards.

In coordination with the General Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry Lab Directors, update and tailor the teaching laboratories to meet the needs presented by curriculum changes.

Follow and ensure compliance with proper safety procedures and protocols. Train teaching assistants (TAs), staff, and student workers in proper safety procedures and protocols. Maintain security of all chemical areas.

Supervise student workers in the set up of teaching labs.

Maintain an inventory of chemicals, equipment, and supplies in the stockroom, storage areas, and teaching laboratories. Determine and assess student fees for glassware breakage.

Assist with training of Teaching Assistants (TAs) in use of the instruments and equipment.

Coordinate participation in the lab coat program.

Oversee disposal of laboratory waste generated in the teaching laboratories and stockroom.
