Automation Shop Welder Fabricator

2 months to start with (Potential to Convert to Full Time)

Pay Rate : $30 / hr - $35 / hr

Job Description :

  • Seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Welder Fabricator with experience in automation equipment and machine shop environments.
  • This role involves welding, fabricating, and assembling custom components and machinery used in automated systems.
  • The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading blueprints, working with tight tolerances, and collaborating with engineering and other teams to bring complex designs to life.

Examples Of Work Performed

  • Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings accurately.
  • Fabricate and weld components for industrial machinery and assemblies using MIG and TIG processes
  • Fabricate parts using saws, grinders, shears, brakes, and other shop tools.
  • Assemble mechanical systems and automation equipment per engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Perform quality checks and make adjustments as needed to meet specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and electricians to ensure proper fit and function of assemblies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards

    • Knowledge, skills, and abilities :

  • Blueprint & Technical Drawing Interpretation
  • MIG and TIG welding
  • Metal Fabrication (Steel, Aluminum, Stainless)
  • Press brake and shear
  • Mechanical Assembly & Equipment Installation
  • Forklift & Overhead Crane Operation
  • Safety Compliance (OSHA, PPE)
  • Team Collaboration & Communication
  • Must be a self-starter, team player, work well with others, and have a positive attitude  Must be results oriented, focused, and attentive to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledgeable of automation components preferred, but not required
  • Must have ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines

    • Minimum qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED required;technical training or certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of welding / fabrication experience in a machine shop or automation environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical assembly and fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems is a plus.
  • AWS certification is a plus but not required.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
