This role involves leading a team of custodial staff, coordinating daily tasks, providing training, and maintaining inventory and equipment. The Team Lead acts as a liaison between custodial staff and management, ensuring effective communication and efficient operations.
Leadership & Supervision
Lead and supervise a team of custodial staff, providing direction, training, and support.Assign daily tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring equitable distribution of work.Monitor and evaluate the performance of custodial staff, providing feedback and addressing performance issues as necessary.Serve as the first point of contact for staff questions, concerns, and guidance during shifts.Custodial Operations
Perform a variety of custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing, and polishing floors; dusting and polishing furniture, fixtures, and equipment; and cleaning restrooms and other facilities.Ensure that all areas are cleaned and maintained according to established standards and schedules.Respond promptly to emergency cleaning requests and special event setups.Complete custodial maintenance work for a dedicated area.Remove snow from entrances as needed.Training & Development
Provide training to new custodial staff on proper cleaning techniques, equipment use, and safety protocols.Conduct ongoing training sessions to ensure staff are up-to-date with best practices and safety regulations.Foster a team-oriented environment that encourages continuous improvement and professional growth.Inventory & Equipment Management
Maintain an inventory of custodial supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.Order supplies as needed and ensure proper storage and handling of materials.Inspect and maintain custodial equipment, reporting any malfunctions or needed repairs.Communication & Coordination
Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments to coordinate custodial services and address any issues or concerns.Maintain accurate records of work performed, supplies used, and time spent on tasks.Participate in meetings and contribute to the development of custodial policies and procedures.Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Education Required :
High school diploma or equivalent.Experience Required :
Minimum of three (3) years of custodial experience, with at least one (1) year in a lead or supervisory role.Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Experience Preferred :
