UW Medical CenterNorthwest has an outstanding opportunity for a Unit Secretary to join us in our new Center for Behavioral Health and Learning building. This position will specifically work on our Long Term Civil Commitment Unit, which is located on the fourth and fifth floors of the facility.
Our Long Term Civil Commitment Unit is designed to support involuntary admits who require extended periods of care, including those requiring multi-month stays. Our services will include highly structured psychiatric care, services for patients with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, and programs that promote independent functioning and transition to the community. The unit will have 75 beds available for intake and will play a key role providing person-centered care in a positive clinical environment.

Northwest campus in 2024, offers an unparalleled opportunity to transform mental health care and to improve mental health care training in our state. The six-story building will be a beautiful place to work with lots of windows, natural lighting and open-concept spaces and will offer amenities including a new kitchen and dining area for patients, staff and visitors.
Primary job responsibilities include answering telephones using defined etiquette standards, maintaining office equipment, assisting with patient admissions, transfers and discharges, and reviewing MD orders.
Requirements include a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
