Position Summary

To serve as a member of the Student Evaluation and Support Services (SESS) Team in a program offering psychological, social, sensory, and educational services to children ages 3-22. The SESS Team will service children through the Child Search Office and in non-public school settings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Functions as evaluation coordinator for designated referred students;
• Facilitates the Student Assistance Team (SATeam) process by participating as a representative of the Student
• Evaluation & Support Services team in providing feedback on best practices in the student assistance team process;
• Explains and interprets assessment services / findings to parents, teachers, principals, and other appropriate personnel;
• Implements and / or assists teachers and other school personnel in the design and implementation of educational and behavioral interventions for support services to clients;
• Provides a written report of any academic / behavioral support services provided to clients;
• Attends the Tier III data meetings to participate in the development of evidence-based interventions and to assist in the analysis of the plans effectiveness;
• Evaluates as a Student Evaluation & Support Services member and in accordance with Bulletin 1508, the Pupil
• Appraisal Handbook, those students suspected of being exceptional. Evaluations include activities such as appraisal of students developmental and educational functioning, descriptions of educational strategies, and needed academic and environmental adjustments and / or curricular modifications;
• Serves as a member of the Child Search Team by conducting functional / developmental assessments for preschool-aged children;
• Participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) staffing and service plan meetings, when appropriate.

Performance Evaluation

The employee will be evaluated based on the above position using either two methods : via COMPASS or a NOLA-PS evaluating instrument. If the employee holds an Educational Leadership certification, he / she will be evaluated via COMPASS to ensure renewal of certification.
