Pay is dependent on qualifications and in accordance with Oregon's Pay Equity Act.
Relocation reimbursement for actual costs up to $5,000 may be available if the incumbent is relocating greater than 100 miles.
Position Overview :
The City of Springfield is seeking to fill a
Communications Coordinator
position. This position actively designs and presents information to increase awareness and understanding of the Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission's (MWMC) mission to protect the community's health and environment by providing high-quality wastewater services to the Eugene-Springfield metropolitan area in partnership with the cities of Eugene and Springfield, and Lane County. The position may also perform work for the City of Springfield's stormwater program, along with other services provided by the City's Development and Public Works Department.
Using a variety of communication tactics such as presentations, tours, social media, websites, news releases, videos, events, media relations, flyers, handouts, etc., this position will promote and inform community members about the MWMC's Mission, Vision and Values, as well as associated changes in regulations, policies, services, and programs.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for clean water, be able to communicate complex and technical information to a variety of audiences-from school-age children to adults-and be able to do so effectively. The candidate should also have an interest in the wastewater industry, including basic knowledge of the regulatory nature of environmental issues.
