Software Engineer, 3D Digital Experience

What to Expect

As a Software Engineer specializing in 3D Digital Experience, you'll be part of a team responsible for bringing Tesla's vehicle configurators and 3D experiences to life. You'll develop and optimize advanced 3D web applications, leveraging React, Node.js, and Three.js to deliver highly interactive and visually stunning experiences on Tesla's websites.

In this role, you'll work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of 3D features into Tesla's core platforms, while pushing the boundaries of WebGL performance and 3D asset delivery. You'll also research and implement emerging technologies in shaders, physics, and animation to enhance realism and scalability.

Your work will directly shape how customers explore and personalize Tesla vehicles online, making it a key part of the Tesla digital journey.

What You'll Do

• Develop, optimize, and maintain advanced 3D web applications for multiple vehicle configurators
• Lead the development of high-quality, scalable, and robust 3D web applications
• Innovate in areas such as 3D asset delivery, configurator applications, and WebGL performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of 3D applications into our core platform
• Implement new features and help maintain existing features on Tesla's websites
• Be able to adapt and work in a challenging environment where we always see changes in requirements, timelines etc.
• Mentor junior developers and collaborate on coding standards and development tools
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance development practices and product quality

Expected Compensation $133,440 - $292,800 / annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
