Accounting Manager / Supervisor

We are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager / Supervisor to lead and oversee critical financial processes within our organization. This role involves managing month-end close activities, ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger, and preparing financial statements. The ideal candidate will have a strong banking background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to lead a team effectively.

Position Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing & posting journal entries including callback
• Responsible for GL suspense correction daily and follow up on any suspense items
• Review & Prepare daily CD Maturity & Renewal report
• Review Unposted GL, Application Exception report & GL Balancing report
• Performs daily and monthly reconciliations of various general ledger accounts
• Prepares monthly general ledger journal entries and assists with the closing of month-end
• Perform monthly statement reconciliations
• Prepare journal entries for SBA Loan Sales, SBA Deferred Fee & Cost
• Coordinate interest wire preparation & renew notice to branch for State CDs
• Provide direct accounting assistance to Controller
• Complies fully with all Bank policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements

Skills / Qualifications

Must be detail oriented. Strong PC skills, ability to work with large spreadsheets and analyze data. Strong communication and customer service skills-can comfortably interact with vendors, customers and employees at all levels of the organization. Success in multitasking in a fast-paced environment and in task ownership.

Education / Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Banking experience strongly preferred. Minimum of five years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
