Accounting Manager Position Summary
The Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of Conco’s Accounting function. This position provides leadership and direction to the accounting team, ensures accurate financial reporting, and supports the Controller in maintaining the integrity of all financial data and processes.
Accounting Manager Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily accounting activities to maintain the Company’s general ledger, and ensure accurate, timely recording of financial transactions
- Lead, supervise, and review the work of the accounting staff, including, but not limited to, check runs, accounts receivable and billing, fixed assets, accounts payable, debt activity, recording of revenue and expenses
- Maintain organized and detailed records to document all financial transactions
- Review general ledger accounts monthly to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Supports external auditor processes to facilitate timely and successful audits
- Prepare or oversee the preparation of sales tax, use tax, and 1099 filings
- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls
- Prepare ad hoc reports to support the Controller and senior leadership team
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Accounting Manager Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience requiredKnowledge, Skills, and Competencies
Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax complianceStrong management and supervisory skills with the ability to develop and mentor staffExcellent organizational and time management skills with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlinesHigh proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)Experience with Vista and Procore preferredProven ability to identify process improvements and implement solutionsAccounting Manager Physical Demands & Work Environment
