Berkeley College is currently seeking an Academic Advisor to work at our New York City campus. This full-time position is responsible for advising and supporting new, continuing, and at-risk students. Each Academic Advisor is assigned a cohort of students and are responsible for their registration, academic planning, and monitoring their progress towards graduation. Academic Advisors work closely with all student support services to help build a support system for their cohort of students. Academic Advisors report to the Academic Advisement Dean.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
- Maintain accurate student records and enrollment statuses by adhering to all Berkeley College’s policies and procedures.
- Assist students with education planning by reviewing academic requirements, interpreting the degree audit, and assisting with student registration.
- Maintain contact with students throughout the term and provide support when addressing student concerns by solving problems with accuracy, integrity, and timeliness.
- Prioritize high risk population of students and provide support and education planning by reviewing academic standing and future goals.
- Follow the strategic initiatives set forth by the Vice President and / or Assistant Vice President, Academic Advisement
Salary Range : $62, to $66,
Job Location :
Onsite in New York City with the ability to work one day a week remotelyOne evening a week and some Saturday hours requiredOne day a year required to travel to Woodland Park Location for All Associates DayEducational Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree Required, master’s degree Preferred.Training and / or Experience :
2+ years of experience in education setting working directly with counseling / advising students.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
