J&L Construction, LLC is a business specializing in heavy civil utilities construction in Denton, TX. We want to extend our team and for a full-time Operator 1. Functions and Responsibilities

• Coordinate, maintain and operate heavy machinery
• Capable of operating hand and power tools
• Ensure safe work practices and compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards
• Assist in preparing sites for construction activities, including grading, trenching, and excavation.
• Load, transport, and unload materials to and from job sites as needed.
• Work closely with project managers, foremen, and other team members to coordinate activities on-site.
• Perform a wide variety task, to include transferring from one task to another as the workflow dictates
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and make reports / troubleshoot as needed
• Assist with general labor duties as needed

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

• Proficiency in safely operating skid steers and excavators
• Ideal candidate will have 3+ years of related experience operating heavy equipment
• Must be knowledgeable with trench and excavation requirements for depths of 25 ft or greater
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, heavy equipment operator) preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to lift heavy objects, work in varying weather conditions, and stand for extended periods as well as bend, stoop and crouch as needed to perform key duties
• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis
• Capable of following work directions and effective communication with Superintendents and fellow employees
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
