About Your Summer Internship Program : The Dollar Tree Summer Internship Program offers an enriching 10-week paid internship opportunity that takes place at our corporate headquarters in Chesapeake, Virginia. Interns will be immersed in a dynamic work environment where they will receive personalized mentorship and engage in professional development activities designed to enhance their skills.

Throughout the internship, participants will gain valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of our operations. Comprehensive onboarding will ensure interns are well-prepared from day one. About Your Role : As an Accounting Intern at Dollar Tree, you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate accounting by contributing to key finance transformation initiatives. You will work closely with leaders and business partners to drive efficiency, standardize processes, and leverage technology.

Under the guidance and mentorship of experienced accounting professionals your role will primarily focus on process improvement and will involve :

• Process Review and Design : Reviewing and analyzing current accounting processes and procedures to identify opportunities for efficiency and standardization.
• Partnering with the Real Estate Construction team and other third parties to integrate process improvements.
• Project Execution and Technology : Applying and learning about accounting in Information Systems (IS) to drive process automation using tools like Power BI, Alteryx, RPA, or exploring applications of AI.
• Rotational Learning & Exposure : Participating in a rotational experience with major functional groups such as General Ledger, Capital Accounting, Lease Accounting, Fixed Assets, Tax, Risk Management, and FP&A. Attending weekly meetings, gaining high-level training on their processes, and sitting in on meetings to understand how capital projects are approved.

This internship is designed to provide you with valuable insights into corporate accounting and finance transformation, leveraging technology and best practices to prepare you for a successful career, particularly toward a CPA certification. At the end of the program, you will be responsible for a presentation centered on what you learned and a real-world challenge / opportunity you helped to solve.

Required Skills and Experience : Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting Strong technical aptitude and experience with IT skills such as Excel, Power BI, Alteryx, RPA, and / or AI concepts. Prior coursework or experience that provides visibility into Accounting Information Systems (IS) or a strong technology background. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with an emphasis on collaboration. Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn about corporate accounting strategy and process transformation.
