Staff / Senior Accountant - Construction Industry (On-Site in Alameda / Oakland CA)

Location : Alameda / Oakland

Compensation : $90,000 - $120,000

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Staff or Senior Accountant to join a growing accounting team supporting a leading construction organization. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and supporting accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in construction accounting , understands project / job costing workflows (though will not perform costing directly), and thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment.

You'll work on-site in the East Bay office, reporting directly to the Corporate Controller , and will interface with both the internal accounting team and our third-party payroll provider.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger (GL) and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes .
• Support project and job cost integration into the GL (performed by project team in San Leandro).
• Review and analyze project accounting data for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with external partners and internal departments to ensure data integrity.
• Prepare account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
• Assist the Corporate Controller in preparing reports and documentation for management review.
