About the role :

We are currently seeking a Principal Substation Design Engineer to lead the development of a high-performing team of engineers while growing and maintaining a portfolio of clients. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of the company and the energy landscape. As the Principal Substation Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design, planning, and execution of substation projects across the Southeast U.S. You will oversee the development of a team of junior engineers, providing mentorship and technical leadership to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Additionally, you will play a critical role in expanding the company’s client base, developing new business opportunities, and driving growth within the region. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a highly skilled engineer with a passion for substation design and team development.

Responsibilities :

• Team Leadership & Development :

Lead and mentor a team of junior substation design engineers, providing guidance, training, and support to help them grow in their careers.

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients across the Southeast U.S. to expand the company’s market presence.

Oversee the design of electrical substations, including high-voltage and medium-voltage systems, protection and control schemes, and equipment layout.

Manage the full lifecycle of substation design projects, from conceptual design through to construction and commissioning.

Ensure that all designs, plans, and documentation adhere to relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NESC).
