As a Chicas Youth Advocate & Project Developer, you'll be more than just a team member; you'll be a creative force. Your hands-on approach and collaborative spirit will breathe life into our program, ensuring a vibrant and engaging learning environment for Latina girls. You'll infuse cultural relevance into your activities, fostering a well-managed, high-quality program that resonates with our youth. Your journey as a Chicas Youth Advocate & Project Developer will be guided by the Chicas Youth Coordinator, providing you with the mentorship and support you need to make a transformative impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Facilitate up to four weekly after school sessions lasting 90 minutes each in Forest Grove, Hillsboro or Beaverton School Districts and collect data related to programming
  • Recruit, supervise, and mentor participants
  • Deliver age-appropriate and culturally responsive curriculum
  • Ensure an active and timely approach to problem-solving when issues arise at school sessions by informing Chicas Coordinator and Manager
  • Attend all program-wide and assigned group events, trips, and school district meetings

QUALIFICATIONS : We recognize that there are multiple expressions of professional readiness. When we review applications, we take a comprehensive look at each applicant. Our goal is to assess your unique strengths. The ideal candidate has many of the following skills and experience :

  • A passionate commitment to the goals and mission of Adelante Mujeres and support for immigrant and BIPOC communities
  • Two years of group facilitation experience
  • BA preferred or AA Degree in Education, Elementary Education or strongly related field
  • Bilingual / Bicultural Spanish - English
  • Knowledge of different computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher
  • Committed to education, social justice, women's empowerment, and the environment
  • Additional Requirements :

  • Complete Criminal Background Check enrollment letter for facility number CC503161
  • Possess a current driver's license and auto insurance coverage to ensure timely arrival and transport relevant materials for youth sessions
  • Ability to travel out of town to attend workshops or trainings
  • SALARY & BENEFITS :

  • Salary range : $23 - $25 per hour, depending on qualifications
  • Classification : Full-time, non-exempt, working 40 hours per week
  • Telework : up to two days a week
  • Benefits : health, vision, dental, short-term and long-term disability, 401K pension plan, life insurance, EAP, professional development opportunities, paid leave of absence, paid holidays (12.5 days annually), sick days (up to 9 days annually), vacation per year (up to 20 days years one through five, up to 25 days after five years), and sabbatical (1 month at 10 years of employment)
