Nurse Manager

Full Time Exempt

The nurse manager is responsible for the delivery of quality nursing care for all the inpatient units. The nurse manager has the authority to adjust staffing as necessary for the day, night and weekend shifts. The nurse manager will oversee all facility activities including, but not limited to admissions, discharges, crisis intervention, seclusion / restraint, involuntary admission process, relieving for rest or meal breaks, assisting in provider rounds. The nurse manager will establish, engage in and assist with the development of clinical knowledge and skills of the Nursing Staff. The nurse manager may participate in the orientation of new hires. The nurse manager will review documentation to ensure accuracy and completion. The nurse manager will work closely with the DON and assist in performance improvement by collecting and analyzing data. The nurse manager will be responsible for other duties as assigned by the DON or CEO.

Qualifications

Education / Experience : Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Requires minimum one (1) years' experience as a nurse manager / supervisor. Preferred in psychiatric nursing and or chemical dependency Knowledge of current nursing procedures, the nursing process, medications and the correct administration.

License / Certification : Currently licensed in the State of Ohio as an RN, current CPR certification, and current CPI certification.

Skills : Demonstrated leadership, communication, teaching and management skills.

Physical Requirements : Must have good visual acuity. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., and ability to push / pull a minimum of 50 pounds. Demonstrate ability to tolerate frequent position changes such as twisting, stooping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing / pulling, and bending positions for complete shift. Ability to sit, stand, and walk from momentary to extended periods of time.

Other : Position requires the ability to work productively and independently. Must follow the security and confidentiality guidelines as well as the policies and procedures of Arrowhead Behavioral Health. Performs other duties as assigned from the Chief Executive Officer and / or the Director of Nursing or their delegate.

This position is an Exempt position.
