Role Description :

  • Solution Architect needs to be hands on and needs to develop working models in partnership with Chief Data Office Engineering team for Big Data Analytics
  • Lead a global team of engineers for successful delivery, using industry best practice patterns and principles
  • Drive architecture, standards and guidelines for an enterprise Big Data Platform
  • Evangelize highly performance and efficient system design using latest Big Data Technologies i.e. Cassandra, Ansible, PySpark, SparkSQL, Python etc.
  • Work with divisionally aligned CTO to ensure enterprise architecture is implemented
  • Work closely with Developers, Business Analysts, Testers and Management on technical matters

Expertise :

  • Experience as engineer and architect in a globally distributed team.
  • Financial services IT background, preferably in Asset Management.
  • Experience in IT solution, architecture, innovation, finance operations and DevOps.
  • Hands-on experiences architecting, building and administering large scale distributed systems using Cassandra, Hadoop etc.
  • Hands on experience of the Hadoop ecosystem (Spark, Kafka, Flink, Map Reduce, Hive, Parquet, Yarn, Sentry, Kerberos, Cloudera, Impala, Zookeeper, Solr, Avro etc.)
  • Hands-on experience working with relational and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, HBase, etc.
  • Hands-on experience developing software code in one or more languages (Java, JavaScript, Python etc.)
  • Hands-on experience of building data pipelines for ingestion, processing and aggregation of data.
  • Experience using containers and container orchestration (Docker / Kubernetes).
  • Experience with cloud technologies (MS Azure preferred) and enabling cloud-native solutions.
  • Experience with APM tooling such as AppDynamics, Splunk, Dynatrace, etc.
  • Experience with data modeling or visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikView, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication verbal and written skills.
  • Good negotiation and influential skills with technical and non-technical audience.
  • Methodology know-how on how to make the right technology design for specific projects / use cases.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and synthesizing skills.
  • Understanding of a broad range of platforms, technologies and tools, specifically Java, UNIX / Linux, Oracle, GitHub, Nexus, TeamCity, Jira, Confluence.
  • Ability to think strategically about business, product and technical challenges in an enterprise environment and create a partnership with project sponsors and roadmap with business vision.
  • Lead technical and business discussions addressing comparisons to alternatives and technical deep dive into solution architecture.
  • Able to provide best practice and guidance across multiple applications, projects and enterprise.
  • In-depth understanding of architecture driven methodologies, micro-services, API, technologies, and trends.
  • Demonstrable experience architecting low latency solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of f2b trade lifecycle execution, data management and security.

    • Special considerations / Preferred engagement model for vendor groups submitting profile for this role :

  • The individuals in this role is expected to come with a leadership mindset who will be responsible for not only delivering the data architecture solutions in partnership with IT and Business Engineering teams, but also to build the core team of big data engineers that will enable / enhance the overall operational governance from an IT perspective.
  • The role will involve training and enhancing the overall skill sets of the existing team to develop a self-sustainable technology delivery organization
  • The lead position will be based out of NJ and the vendor group should have the ability to scale other related roles in offshore location (Preferably Pune, India)
  • Vendors with extensive experience / specialized workstream dedicated to cater big-data platform consulting and implementation projects preferred
  • Vendors with relationships with Big Data service providers like DataStax will be considered as an added advantage
