This is a seasonal, part-time, at will maintenance position for in-season work at Lancaster Municipal Stadium (JetHawks) from March to September for the 2019 baseball season, with the possibility for extended offseason hours.
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of tasks associated with parks and facilities maintenance duties at the City of Lancaster and performs other duties as assigned. This position promotes professional communication with other staff and the public, and is able to be responsible for safe work practices. General direction and evaluation is provided by the Parks Supervisor. Work is reviewed while in progress and by the results achieved. Employees should be self-motivated and be able to execute tasks with a high degree of efficiency and attention to detail.
Responsibilities :
- Perform daily janitorial maintenance duties at parks and / or facilities.
- Perform daily turf and facilities maintenance duties at parks and / or facilities.
- Assist with maintaining and irrigating grounds
- Operation of hand and basic power tools for maintenance routines.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and City Staff.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
High school graduation or equivalentPossession of a valid California driver's licenseOpen availability and ability to work up to 38 hours per week.Must be willing to work weekends, evening hours, special events, and holidays, as needed by stadium operations.Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written.Must be 18 years of age or older.Desirable / Preferable Qualifications :A minimum of six months of janitorial / maintenance experience is highly desirable.It is preferred if applicants are proficient in and / or familiar with : basic irrigation repairs, landscaping maintenance, facilities maintenance (i.e. basic plumbing, electrical, etc.), basic turf management practices including aeration and fertilization, light administrative duties, performing site inspections, etc.Working Conditions :
