What You Will Do :

We have an opportunity for a Hazardous Waste Technician to be based in Columbus, GA. (onsite role)

Primary Responsibilities :

• Perform ChemWaste daily operations as directed by the supervisor.
• Transport drums and totes to / from the points of generation (POG) using a powered industrial vehicle.
• Operate box truck subject to DOT regulations.
• Prepare hazardous and non-hazardous waste for shipment.
• Maintain records in accordance with required federal, state, county, and local regulations.
• Execute management systems and mistake proofing to ensure 100% compliance / Zero Escapes operation and full execution of regulatory tasks.
• Control and monitor chemicals and / or hazardous waste in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Perform inventory and inspection checks on hazardous waste and storage units as required.
• Remove and dispose of waste chemicals, solvents, acids, and bases.
• Inspect waste generation areas for compliance and housekeeping prior to waste collection.
• Prepare and label empty waste containers for issue utilizing waste tracker software.
• Inspect safety equipment such as showers and eyewashes.
• Record inspections and report findings.
• Assist with scheduling and providing coverage during off-shifts.
• Be able to work in a team environment and handle multi-tasking duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
