Rockhurst University Security Department has an opening for a Communications Dispatcher. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED Certificate. Qualified candidates will be required to pass a written test before moving forward in our process. The candidate must also pass a background screening, drug test, physical examination, and interview board. The pay starts at $ per hour.

Qualifications

Rockhurst Security Personnel carries a Class A Private Security License and are classified as Patrol Agents under Title 17 and Chapter 84 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri. Rockhurst Communications Dispatchers are unarmed and must qualify for a private, unarmed license through the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, both upon initial hiring and annually after that.

Minimum qualifications :

Physical Requirements :

Position requires light lifting (5-20 pounds) two to three times a day, the ability to hear, use the telephone, and perform stationary work at a computer console for prolonged periods. The incumbent will be required to sit / stand at a designated console for extended periods, type information into various computer systems, and effectively process numerous simultaneous tasks.

This position involves shift work as well as some weekends and holidays. Law Enforcement, Public Safety, or Security experience is desirable but will train. On-going professional development training / education available for advancement.
