Job Description

Located in San Antonio, TX, and reporting to the Assistant Controller of PCI Aviation LLC, the Payroll Specialist performs daily functions of the accounting department in support of payroll responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll in Costpoint, including Davis Bacon wages and the Service Contract Act.
• Set up and maintain employees in Costpoint.
• Coordinate with the Benefits Administrator and maintain accurate employee deductions
• Develop and maintain payroll training for staff.
• Review Timesheets and communicate with employees and the supervisor about discrepancies
• Review and correct payroll calculations
• Prepare and track benefit reconciliations
• Set up and maintain accounts for payroll taxes with states, local and federal accounts
• Maintain general ledger account reconciliations
• Performs accounting responsibilities to support the monthly / quarterly / year-end close
• Assist with annual audits
• Prepare year-end and quarterly reports
• Collaborate with external partners for employment verifications, payroll processing and third-party reporting
• Prepare documentation for external auditors.
• Prepare AdHoc Reports
• Assist with preparing and monitoring budgets
• Assist with continuous process improvement and implementation
• Perform other accounting activities as required.

Security Requirements

Must obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level, though candidates with an active Secret are highly sought. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.

Physical Requirements

standard office or conference room setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer.

To visit other company sites, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle and fly in an aircraft, which may require sitting for prolonged periods. Employees must possess the vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and the hearing and speech skills to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas will be required. This position requires an employee to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, or balance; reach, push, and pull drawers and doors open and closed. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 20 pounds.
