Summary

We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to join our IT-driven development team in Altamonte Springs. This role is responsible for designing, building, and delivering dashboards, reports, and data solutions that enable the organization to move toward a more data-driven culture . The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across business functions.

Responsibilities

Partner with Finance, Accounting, Administration, and Operations to gather requirements and design reports.

Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI (Desktop and Service).

Develop DAX queries, Power Query transformations, and data models.

Connect and integrate with various data sources, including SQL Server, Azure, Excel, APIs, and HubSpot.

Apply Row-Level Security and manage workspace setup.

Collaborate with stakeholders, including executives and leadership teams, to deliver actionable insights.

Document processes, maintain governance standards, and ensure data accuracy.

Deliver admin dashboards and sales manager dashboards within the first 90 days.

Support the activation and adoption of the organization’s new data warehouse.

Engagement Details

Start Date : As soon as possible.

Duration / Conversion : Contract with intent to convert after 3–6 months, depending on fit.

Schedule : Standard business hours, onsite five days a week.

Location : Corporate office in Altamonte Springs, FL .

Team / Environment

Reports To : Development Manager.

Team Makeup : 1 Development Manager, 2 Developers, 1 BI Developer.

Culture : Fast-paced, collaborative, and business-focused.

Additional Information

Role Type : Individual contributor with potential to mentor junior staff in the future.

Cross-Functional Work : Yes; heavy collaboration with Finance, Accounting, Administration, and Operations.

Industry Knowledge : Not required; can be learned on the job.

RequirementsSkillset / Technical Requirements

Power BI (must-have) : Dashboard creation, DAX, Power Query, data modeling, report automation, and paginated reports.

Tools : Power BI Service (cloud) and Power BI Desktop.

Data Sources : SQL Server, Azure, Excel, APIs, and HubSpot.

SQL / ETL : Strong SQL skills required; light ETL / data engineering skills preferred.

Governance & Security : Experience with Row-Level Security and workspace setup (tenant admin not required).

Certifications : Nice to have, but not required.

Adjacent Tools / Languages : Synapse, Fabric, and Power BI ecosystem knowledge.

Communication Skills : Strong ability to present to executives and stakeholders; must translate technical solutions into business value.

Soft Skills : Adaptability, stakeholder management, documentation, organization, requirements gathering, and strong self-management.
