Responsibilities
- Promote a strong safety culture internally and externally, maintaining Cooper Steels core priorities : Safety, Quality, and Production
- Perform safety inspections, prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventative measures, and follow up to ensure measures have been abated
- Review subcontractors site-specific plans, temporary bracing plans, and training documents prior to a projects erection
- Attend pre-erect meetings with subcontractors, on-site management, and project managers
- Review scope safety plans with the erector and on-site safety manager as applicable
- Perform and / or assist with accident investigation and root cause analysis as needed
- Administer and / or assist in training Cooper Steel field employees

Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in safety (or equivalent combination of education and experience)Knowledge of CFR 1926 OSHA StandardsOSHA 30 or 510 Certification (Preferred)Strong interpersonal skills, communicating and working effectively with a diverse range of individualsGood judgment and problem-solving skillsAbility to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneouslyExperience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointDetail-oriented, with highly developed organizational and time management skillsAbility to travel for extended periods of timeWhats in it for you?
