The Site Coordinator for the After-School Program is responsible for managing a team of staff to deliver high-quality programming at one of our Boys & Girls Club sites. This role ensures a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for youth while fostering positive relationships with families, school personnel, and the community. The Site Coordinator leads program implementation, staff development, and ensures alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Illinois.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that promotes an Optimal Club Experience, as measured by NYOI survey results, attendance patterns, and other data
- Supervise and support Youth Development Assistants in delivering age-appropriate, engaging daily programs
- Maintain appropriate staff-to-member ratios (generally 1 : 15; minimum 1 : 20), adjusting staffing based on attendance
- Establish clear structure, expectations, and behavioral guidance for members and staff
- Ensure compliance with uniform policy and model professionalism at all times
- Oversee the cleanliness, safety, and organization of program spaces, ensuring areas are left better than found
- Build strong relationships with members, families, school personnel, community partners, and staff
- Support members’ physical, social, artistic, technological, and life skill development
- Promote moral character development, educational achievement, and post-secondary readiness
- Recognize and celebrate the achievements of members and staff
- Assist with food preparation, front desk duties, and administrative tasks as needed
