Job Description

Staff Management Group is seeking a Customer Service Representative for our client in Newark, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.

Schedule

  • 1st shift : 8AM - 4 : 30PM
  • Monday - Friday

Pay Rate

  • 18 - $21 / hour
  • Job Summary

    The Customer Service Representative will be the primary point of contact for customers, managing orders from entry to delivery while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and satisfaction. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate with internal departments such as sales, production, and logistics. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, packaging, or related industries.

    Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customer inquiries via phone, email, and online portals.
  • Process and manage customer orders from entry to delivery, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment.
  • Provide detailed product, pricing, and lead time information to customers.
  • Track and monitor orders, proactively communicating updates or delays to customers.
  • Coordinate with production, scheduling, logistics, and sales to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, transactions, and feedback in CRM / ERP systems.
  • Assist with preparing quotes, samples, and documentation as needed.
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints or escalations in a professional and solution-oriented manner.
  • Support sales team initiatives, including upselling or cross-selling packaging solutions when appropriate.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for customer satisfaction and service efficiency.
  • Job Requirements

  • Education : High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • Experience : 3+ years in customer service, order management, or inside sales; manufacturing or packaging industry experience a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT) and experience working with internal ERP / CRM systems
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a customer-first approach.
