Zahner Legal Support is hiring experienced litigation secretaries (California law knowledge only) to work remotely, part-time (anywhere from 5-35 hours per week), preferably available Monday through Friday, with any hours between 8 : 00 am and 6 : 00 pm, though there is room for flexibility, including nights and / or weekends. We are a group of former Big Law legal secretaries seeking greater control over our income and a flexible work environment that accommodates our individual lifestyle needs. In that capacity, we use our extraordinary litigation skills to support solo practitioners / small firms in Northern and Southern CA.

Here are some of the skills and qualities we are expecting in candidates :

• Proficient in using MS styles to format, prepare, and finalize Judicial Council Forms, CA State Court, CA Federal Court, and Appellate pleadings and discovery for civil litigation
• Experience with filing / e-filing in CA state and / or federal cour,t and knowledge of Superior Court local rules
• Proficient in MS Word (using styles)
• Critical thinking
• Detail-oriented
• Proactive
• Ability to work independently and, at times, under deadline
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• 5+ years of experience in litigation
• Legal calendaring (CompuLaw, ProLaw, Clio) knowledge extremely helpful
• Working knowledge of Superior courts in LA, SF and the East Bay (Contra Costa, Solano, etc.) is especially helpful
• You will also have MS 365, a pdf program (with editing capacity), and enthusiasm for independence
