This position reports to the Manager of Collection Management and Digital Services and is accountable for ordering materials for the library, assisting with accounting for library expenditures, organization, cataloging and processing library materials. This position is responsible for assisting with digitization and scholarly communication projects, as well as helping with the library makerspace. Additionally, this role will assist patrons at the circulation desk at least two days per week.This is a 12 month, 35 hour a week position, Tuesday through Saturday schedule. Principal Accountabilities Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Providing patron assistance at the Borrower Services Desk through face to face and digital methods, using library systems and electronic and print information resources.
- Effectively working with a diverse population of faculty, staff, students, and community members.
- Providing accurate and timely administrative support to the librarians.
- Ordering library materials electronically or manually, such as books, (ebooks), standing orders, periodicals, audio-visual items, and supplies and keeping records of all expenditures.
- Cataloging and organizing library books, audio-visual items and objects.
- Reconciling shipments against invoices, ensuring non-duplication or shipping errors.
- Tracking bills and records to ensure timely payment and ensure that orders are in accordance with library collection development policies.
- Assisting patrons with the technologies located in the library makerspace such as 3D printers, sewing machines, etc.
- Promoting library materials and services via digital signage, social media, and more.
- Assisting other library departments as needed.
- Attending department and library staff meetings.
- Performing other related responsibilities as assigned.
