Accounting Clerk

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Clerk to join our team in Hillsborough, California. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting and a passion for the hospitality industry. The role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage tasks efficiently within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities :

• Manage daily operations of the club's accounting system, including member billing, collections, and vendor invoice processing.
• Process monthly payments through Automatic Clearing House (ACH) and ensure accurate reconciliation of accounts.
• Address member inquiries related to billing and provide exceptional customer service.
• Handle payroll tasks, including preparation and posting of journal entries, reconciliation of employee wages, and ensuring compliance with payroll laws.
• Maintain accurate records for employee benefits, pension plans, and time-off tracking.
• Generate and distribute annual tax and financial forms such as W2s, 1099s, and 1095s.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare reports as required by management.
• Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks and ensure deadlines are met.
• Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and provide support to the Accounting Manager and Controller.
• Ensure compliance with all financial policies and procedures while maintaining confidentiality. Requirements - Minimum of three years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close processes.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Background in the hospitality industry is preferred but not mandatory if comparable experience is demonstrated.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with team members and clients.
• Knowledge of accounting and payroll procedures, including tax reporting and compliance.
• Familiarity with time management systems and employee benefits tracking is a plus.
