Preschool Teacher - Childrens Village

Our Children's Village in Downtown Boise, is seeking a full-time Preschool Teacher to join their team. This role is responsible for creating an environment with a teaching team that promotes each child’s development and supports children and their family’s diverse needs and interests.

The Treasure Valley Family YMCA’s Child Development programs support children in their ongoing growth to ensure that they are ready for the next educational milestone, whether that be preschool, kindergarten, middle school, or high school.

Schedule :

This is a full-time position at 40 hours weekly and with benefits! Schedule requirement is Monday through Friday, with the option for either a 7 : 30am-4 : 30pm shift or a 9 : 00am - 6 : 00pm shift. Pay is $16.95-$21.19 / hour.

Responsibilities :

• Create an environment that fosters safety though active supervision and by role modeling safe behavior.
• Nurture children through purposeful programs dedicated to building relationships, achievement, and belonging.
• Develop intentional relationships and maintain effective daily communication with participants and parents using the Y voice attributes.
• Implement the established curriculum that achieves the five Cause Measurement goals.
• Use positive behavior guidance techniques to support children’s appropriate development and behavior.
• Monitor and ensure the health and safety of participants, families, staff, and volunteers by following and implementing Child Development Branch approved Leading Practices.
• Use Y Core Values, developmentally appropriate practices, and effective teaching strategies to support each child’s unique background, needs and different learning styles.
