Job Title : Financial Counselor
As a Financial Counselor, you will be responsible for verifying accurate demographic and financial information, reviewing and interpreting insurance benefits, providing financial counseling and screening, handling charity applications and credit assessments, and establishing all financial arrangements. You will refer appropriate cases to other agencies to assist patients with discharge / post hospital care. You will work closely with Patient Placement, Care Coordination, Social Services, and Patient Business Services to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement. You should be able to write concise, grammatically correct reports and correspondence, be proficient in basic math, and have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Salary Range : $33.27- $47.77 / hourly
Qualifications We're seeking an exceptional, self-directed professional with working knowledge of third-party payer relationships as well as relevant state and federal health programs, working knowledge of third party payer and medical terminology, ability to adapt to and implement changing registration procedures, working knowledge of HMOs, PPOs, and insurance contracting, ability to analyze information, problems, situations, practice or procedures, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including proper phone etiquette, bilingual English / Spanish abilities, preferred, PC proficiency and basic math knowledge, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, independent decision-making skills and sound judgment, ability to adhere to departmental policies and procedures and work rules, and flexibility in working varied schedules and at a variety of locations when necessary.
