Job Title : EVENT SPECIALIST

Job Summary

This position at MTR is the lifeline of our sales force. More than an order taker, the Event Specialist is the first and most important impression every potential client receives as they consider services from MTR. This role is the primary means of communications with our clients – on calls, in person and in written context – with focus of inside sales to new and existing (“repeat”) clients.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Interact daily with wedding planners, corporate event planners, mothers of the bride, operations directors, facilities managers, project developers, florists, caterers, alumni directors and backyard party planners all in need of rental equipment to satisfy their short or long term need. Much of this communication is on calls and via emails; occasional walk-in or scheduled appointments.

• Collaborates with admin team on daily / weekly basis to manage operations calendar and communicate timely with installation team in regards to strategies and planning, conflicts and resolutions
• Proactively calls on repeat clients as early in year as possible to book out “big weeks”
• Research and identify successful event opportunities
• Produces accurate quotes, estimates and invoices
• Fields incoming calls

Enthusiastically offer solutions, upsell new equipment or additional rental items that may enhance the event and outshine the “Enemy Called Average”

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Education / Experience in service related position

Quickbooks Software, Inventory Software or similar a plus

Excellent written and verbal communication

Organize and prioritize daily

Must be a lifetime learner. Read. Collaborate. Attend occasional conference. Join industry associations

Sales experience a plus. Marketing experience a plus

Other information

Future growth in this position may include management of another part / full time addition to the inside sales team, additional administrative and operational tasks, and new market / product research.
