Job Summary :

Responsibilities include providing insurance and benefits verification, seeks and verifies authorizations for transplant related services. Manages work queues and workflow in preparation for ICV, Eval, MRB (listing), as needed. Possesses a strong understanding for commercial, federal, state and third-party payors and efficiently processes requests. Works closely with Transplant Coordinators and relays information in a timely manner. Supports overall Transplant Financial services at the direction of the department leadership team. Assists with preparing Financial Review Profiles for determination of patient financial capability; refer potential Medicaid or County patients to FAS for Medicaid application and approval; monitor all in-house accounts for possible financial issues; Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital

Qualifications

• Requires a level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through the completion of High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate Degree in Business preferred and completion of the CPAT exam is a plus.
• 4+ years' experience in Registration and / or Collections and Billing.
• Experience with insurance benefits, authorization processes, and financial coordination related to Transplant Services preferred.
