Utility Infrastructure Relocation Coordinator
This position will oversee a small group of Coordinators dedicated to coordinating the relocation of utility infrastructure. This position will build and maintain relationships with PBOT, Bureau of Environmental Services, and Portland Permitting & Development project managers, construction managers, engineers, inspectors, etc. They will host meetings with Franchised Utility, Public Utility, other governmental agencies, etc. with the goal of efficiently relocating conflicting utility infrastructure within the scope and schedule of public projects. This position will coordinate activities with the Utility Permitting program and Compliance Program and will be responsible for overseeing City Code and Administrative Rules to ensure they stay up to date with policy and procedures relevant to utility infrastructure relocations within the public right-of-way.
The Utility Management and Compliance Division ensures safe and efficient mobility for all users of the public right-of-way by overseeing the restoration of PBOT assets, managing utility infrastructure, and enforcing compliance with permit conditions, city codes, and administrative rules.
What you'll get to do :
- Host project coordination meetings with internal and partner bureau capital project managers, development review engineers, utility company and public utility representatives, utility / project inspector teams, etc. Determine and oversee the timeline of infrastructure relocations deemed to conflict with a public project. Develop project-specific timelines and disseminate information to all impacted parties.
- Meet with government agencies, city bureaus, developers, and utility company representatives to ensure uniformity of policy, efficiency of requirements, and to maintain / build relationships.
- Oversee Transportation staff coordinating the relocation of utility infrastructure in conflict with public projects. Ongoing personnel selection, performance evaluation, training, and corrective action as required.
- Analyze data collected and utilize collected information to inform policy changes and process updates. Visualize and report on project statuses.
An ideal candidate will have 4+ years of progressively more complicated Project Management experience, preferably within the public sector or utility industry.
