Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage master planning material processes and systems prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs. Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements.
• Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy / strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
• Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
• May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions / parameters.
• A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.
• Source and purchase critical materials equipment and supplies supporting the maintenance / production departments as needed.
• Evaluate and select supplier quotes based on quality cost and delivery performance.
• Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to quality or delivery.
• Maintain day-to-day communication with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery system data integrity and accurate ordering parameters for individual materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure optimal stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
• Analyze inventory usage trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
• Implement inventory control measures to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
