    Overview :

    Mt. San Antonio College is seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Professional Expert – Mental Health Clinician to provide mental health services to a diverse student population, with a specialized focus on supporting noncredit students. The clinician will offer short-term counseling, crisis intervention, case management, and outreach services to promote student well-being and academic success.

    This position requires a strong commitment to equity, cultural humility, and healing centered engagement, ensuring that students of all backgrounds, particularly ABE, AWD, ESL, and STV students, feel supported in their mental health journey.

    Minimum Qualifications :

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Active and unrestricted licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or Clinical Psychologist) in California.
  • Minimum two years of clinical experience, preferably in a higher education or community mental health.
  • Demonstrated experience providing mental health support services to individuals, including an understanding of intersectionality, gender identity, and minority stress.
  • Strong knowledge of healing centered engagement and ability to provide culturally responsive support.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, multicultural environment.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professional ethics, and adherence to legal guidelines in mental health practice.
  • Knowledge of Title IX, FERPA, HIPAA, and other relevant regulations affecting college students.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

    Clinical Services

  • Provide short-term, solution-focused individual counseling to students experiencing mental health challenges.
  • Conduct clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide appropriate interventions tailored to the needs of noncredit students.
  • Offer crisis intervention and risk assessment, including suicide prevention and safety planning.
  • Refer students to community resources and coordinate care with off-campus providers when necessary.
  • Work closely with campus departments to provide holistic support.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.
  • Stay informed about current best practices, policies, and research related to mental health care.
  • Outreach & Training

  • Develop and facilitate workshops, psychoeducational groups, and presentations on mental health topics relevant to noncredit students.
  • Collaborate with campus departments, faculty, and staff to promote mental health awareness and resources.
  • Provide consultation and training to faculty and staff on best practices for supporting noncredit students.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working in a community college setting or with adult learners.
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Mandarin or other language relevant to the student population).
  • Experience facilitating group therapy.
  • License(s) & Other Requirements :

    Active and unrestricted licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or Clinical Psychologist) in California.

  • This is a temporary, long-term, hourly as needed position without permanent status.
