Position Description :
Position OverviewAs a special education teacher, you will be a vital member of our student support team, ensuring that students with learning disabilities receive the necessary assistance and accommodations to thrive academically and socially. In this role, you will assess students, develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborate with teachers and parents, and provide specialized instruction and intervention. By employing evidence-based strategies and a deep understanding of learning disabilities, you will empower our students to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. Core Competencies & Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify and evaluate students with learning disabilities.Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet students' unique needs.Provide direct instruction and intervention to students with learning disabilities in both individual and small group settings.Design and implement research-based strategies and accommodations to support students' academic progress and social-emotional development.Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure the successful implementation of IEPs and accommodations in the general education setting.Monitor students' progress regularly, collect data, and make data-driven instructional decisions to guide interventions and modifications.Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, services provided, and communication with parents and stakeholders.Stay informed about current research and best practices in the field of learning disabilities and special education.Advocate for students with learning disabilities, ensuring their needs are understood and met by all stakeholders. QualificationsBachelors degree in Special Education or a related field.New Jersey Department of Education certification Students with Disabilities Strong knowledge of learning disabilities, assessment tools, and evidence-based interventions.Familiarity with the IEP process and developing appropriate accommodations and modifications.Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student success.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.Passion for working with students with learning disabilities and a commitment to inclusive education. Salary Starting at $68,000 - $72,000 for step level1 - we match step levels $68,000.00 - $86,000.00 Annually
