Position Summary

The University of Southern Indiana (USI) seeks a Clinical Assistant Professor of Social Work funded through a five-year community partnership with the Good Samaritan Internship Program with the possibility of extension beyond that period. The faculty member will play a key role in developing a rural and underserved outreach mental / behavioral health program and measuring the programs success. This position requires teaching up to 6 credit hours a semester in BSW or MSW courses. Position will begin in January 2026 or when is a temporarily funded position through May of 2031.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Identify and collaborate with community stakeholders service providers and referral networks.
• Lead outreach and engagement strategies to reduce stigma and increase access to behavioral health and substance use resources.
• Plan and deliver community education events trainings and forums to promote understanding of mental health and substance use issues.
• Supervise and mentor social work students engaged the outreach initiatives.
• Teach graduate and undergraduatecourses as needed.
• Collaborate with the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts Social Work Department Chair Master of Social Work Program Director Bachelor of Social Work Program Director and Director of Field Education on program development and strategic planning.
• Conduct ongoing program evaluation and complete biannual reports.
