Senior Social Media Content Strategist role at The University of Georgia .

The Senior Social Media Content Strategist leads the strategic direction of the University of Georgias social media efforts to protect and enhance the institutions reputation while advancing its mission and priorities. This position is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing UGAs overarching social media strategy, with a focus on managing the universitys overall social media presence, along with leading our crisis communication efforts on social media, and supporting the Digital Dawgs program as needed.

This position also supports the Assistant Director of Digital Marketing on broader digital advertising efforts, including paid social, display, search, and YouTube pre-roll by contributing content coordination, creative ideas, and campaign insights. This role works closely with colleagues in content, creative, and media relations to ensure UGAs digital communications are cohesive, strategic, and high-impact. The strategist also plays a critical role in emergency communications and leads the universitys social media response efforts.

Responsibilities

Monitor social media for pending / potential areas of concern

Oversee and guide social media content strategy, ensuring alignment with UGAs institutional goals.

Foster collaboration between the Marketing and Communications division and campus units to align efforts and maximize impact.

Collaborate with creative, marketing, media relations, and content teams to produce organic and paid social media content.

Supervise and mentor the Social Media Manager, providing direction and feedback to align with social media strategic goals.

Support the Assistant Director of Digital Marketing in the execution of paid digital campaigns.

Manages projects through divisional PM software, status reporting, and milestone management to ensure delivery of projects on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. Proofreads content for clarity, grammar, and spelling.
