Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CRM systems like Neoserra and Salesforce. Ability to work outside regular business hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends. Capacity to travel locally and occasionally out-of-state. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Position Summary :
Logan Heights Community Development Corporation is seeking a passionate and dedicated Small Business Advisor to support small businesses and emerging entrepreneurs in under-served communities. The role provides one-on-one business development counseling, focusing on business retention, expansion, and access to capital. Familiarity with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) network and its resources is highly desirable, as this role will often leverage those services to maximize impact for clients. This position is essential in helping clients develop business plans, financial strategies, and management systems for sustainable growth. Key Responsibilities :
Business Development (40%) :
Provide individualized counseling to small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.
- Assist clients with developing business plans, marketing strategies, and financial management techniques.
- Conduct workshops on various aspects of small business management.
- Collaborate with local business support organizations, lenders, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor client progress and provide ongoing support to ensure business success.
Technical Client Assistance (40%) :
Conduct needs assessments to help clients clarify business goals and develop actionable plans.
Appeals and Education Support (20%) :
Assist clients in navigating appeals processes for denied applications.
Qualifications : Education :
A bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field is required; a Master of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
Experience :
Minimum of 2 years of experience in business ownership or business consulting.
Skills :
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
