As a Security Officer - Armed Corrections Site in Lakeland, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Corrections, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment within a corrections setting. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols throughout the assigned location, maintaining a strong visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any incidents or emergencies that arise. In this armed post, you will use your training and professionalism to provide a reassuring presence for staff, visitors, and residents alike. You will also deliver exceptional customer service, communicate clearly with all individuals on site, and work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team. What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and / or breaches.
  • Monitor and control access to restricted areas within the location, verifying the identification of individuals as required.
  • Assist with the supervision and observation of individuals within the facility, reporting any unusual or suspicious behavior to the appropriate authorities.
  • Support the enforcement of facility rules, regulations, and procedures as directed by site management.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff and law enforcement personnel to maintain order within the location.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports regarding incidents, observations, and activities during each shift.
  • Participate in emergency drills and respond to alarms in accordance with established protocols.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Must be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Must possess an armed guard card or license as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Must have at least two years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience or possess a college degree.
  • Must possess a corrections officer license as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Must possess a law enforcement officer license as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
