Security Officer
St. John's is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Security Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure hospital for our employees, patients, and visitors.
Responsibilities include :
- Protecting staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner, such as violent or unruly patients, visitor crimes committed or in progress, opening doors, and responding to emergency codes.
- Patrolling the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitoring security alarms and dispatching officers promptly to location(s) where needed and reporting unsafe acts or conditions.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, supplies, reports HIPAA breaches if witnessed; investigate security breaches, conduct follow-up investigations, and write incident reports.
- Logging all activities in a daily log to accurately record events; and complete clear, concise, and legible reports promptly; use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers while knowing the hospital campus to ensure that those dispatched are to the right location.

This position is represented by SPFPA and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
