Our Ophthalmic Scribes are responsible for assisting the Ophthalmologist and / or Optometrist by navigating the Electronic Health Record and documenting information as dictated by the physician.
Responsibilities
- Assists physician with documentation of the patients medical record
- Transcribes the impression and plan diagnostic test results prescriptions and orders
- Completes electronic refill requests
- Type and send communications to patients and other healthcare providers
- Monitors patient flow ensuring the physician exam rooms are always full after testing
- Escorts patients to front desk after exam
- Completes billing and coding as directed by the physician
- Monitors schedule to stay on-time of patient scheduling
- Other duties as requested by the physician (ie fax / call pharmacies or physicians offices etc.)
