About the Role :
The Receptionist - Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the front desk within a healthcare or social assistance setting. This position is responsible for managing patient and visitor interactions with professionalism, empathy, and accuracy, serving as the first point of contact for the organization. The Lead Receptionist oversees daily front desk activities, coordinates scheduling, and supports administrative staff to maintain a welcoming and organized environment. Additionally, this role involves training and mentoring junior reception staff to uphold high standards of service and compliance with healthcare regulations. Ultimately, the Lead Receptionist contributes to enhancing patient experience and operational efficiency by combining leadership with exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Minimum Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in office administration or healthcare is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably within a healthcare or social assistance environment.
- Proven experience in supervising or leading a small team is required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, patient privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA), and healthcare office procedures.
- Proficiency with scheduling software, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
